With so many tattoo styles and techniques, it’s really hard for a tattooist to please a customer’s eye with something really special. But not for Franky Yang, a Chinese tattoo master, who creates amazingly colorful illustrations in a rectangular frame. Each piece of Franky’s work is like a small window that opens to show serene mountains, green forests, and tranquil sea views.
Here at Bright Side, we love unusual art, whether it’s a painting on a canvas or breathtaking body art that adds its own special charm. We’d love for you to take a look at Franky’s authentic tattoos together with us.
Franky derives inspiration from her culture.
Franky comes from Beijing, an old city with endless charm. As a tattooist, she is recognized by her illustrative style and color. She also gets into mini-realism and is strong when it comes to fine lines. The landscapes that Franky paints on the human body are enclosed in small rectangular frames.
She sometimes enhances the design by letting some elements go outside the border. Some of her tattoos feature the sun drifting away from the rectangular frame, and also cranes and dragons escaping from their limits. She likes painting waves that crash beyond the border, too.
The artist is surrounded by other geniuses in the tattoo industry.
Franky is happy to work at one of the most famous tattoo studios in Beijing — Newtattoo Studio. She is accompanied by other talented artists like Aki Wong or Neuneu Wu, who all have their own unique and recognized style. She spends a lot of time creating designs that incorporate Chinese painting elements. But she listens to her customers and mixes her own designs with their personal wishes, and the happiness of her customers is the most important thing to her.
The artist’s imagination sometimes breaks the limits.
When it comes to catching another wave of inspiration, nothing can prevent this artist from being super-creative.
In her interviews, Franky says: “My inspiration comes not only from ancient Chinese paintings, but also from ancient costume accessories and architectural elements. I want to show the traditional Chinese culture to everyone who loves it, through tattoos.”
