Kate Winslet Describes Post-Titanic Fame: ‘It Was Horrible’

Kate Winslet, who starred in Titanic, talked about how fame from the movie wasn’t all great. She said dealing with the media was tough after it came out in 1997. People expected her to act a certain way or look a certain way, which made her life unpleasant.

Journalists kept saying she could’ve done big things after Titanic, but she chose smaller projects. Winslet explained that being famous was actually horrible for her.

However, she also mentioned that Titanic still makes many people happy, even though there are times she wants to hide, especially if she’s on a boat.

This isn’t the first time Winslet has spoken about her fame after Titanic. In 2021, she talked about feeling bullied by the British media and facing a lot of criticism about her appearance.

Despite the challenges, Winslet talked about her friendship with Leonardo DiCaprio, her co-star in Titanic. She said they got along well on set and that DiCaprio’s energy was magnetic and fun to be around.
