- Years ago, iconic artist Michael Bublé opened the doors to his former Vancouver mansion to give the public an inside look at Christmas in his abode.
- The singer’s longtime residence was where he and his family celebrated Christmas a year before his son was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 3.
- Following his son’s cancer battle, the famous musician built a new home in his hometown.
Legendary Hollywood musician Michael Bublé, 48, has built an extensive track record of success as a phenomenal entertainer during his years in the industry. Aside from being an iconic crooner, Bublé is a loving family man whose kids and wife mean the world and more to him.
He is the doting husband to his beloved wife, Luisana Lopilato, 36, and a devoted papa bear to their four children. Years before welcoming more children, Lopilato and Bublé’s eldest son, Noah, faced a terrifying health situation when he was just a baby.
In 2016, tragedy hit their tight-knit family when little Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer at the age of 3. As parents who have always cherished their family above everything else, Noah’s parents were absolutely heartbroken over the tragic news:
“We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US…Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well…”
Bublé received a worrying message from his wife about something being wrong with their boy mere minutes before he was scheduled to appear on “The One Show” in London. Lopilato had texted him a picture showing a surgical scan, visibly showing that something was amiss.
After somehow managing to complete his appearance, barely even remembering how his performance went, the “Home” singer rushed to be with his family in Los Angeles via a private jet. Bublé, Lopilato, and their second-born son, Elias, stayed by Noah’s side throughout his approximate seven-month stay in the hospital.
While recounting the unfathomably painful experience they went through in a past interview, Bublé mentioned how doctors chose to paint a full picture of Noah’s condition. He explained:
“You don’t get reassurance — you get the opposite. Everything that they tell you is the worst-case scenario.”
Even when his baby boy, whom he calls his hero, was given the all-clear to come home in spring 2017, Bublé still didn’t feel all the way comfortable with making an immediate return to the stage. In fact, it wasn’t until the end of 2017 that he felt more ready.
Naturally, having to deal with arguably the most devastating time in a parent’s life, Bublé was still greatly affected by what happened to his son, even after he made a recovery. While sitting down for another interview he conducted a year after Noah’s cancer battle, Bublé admitted that there were many times when he and Lopilato didn’t want to wake up:
“There were a million times that my wife and I were just surviving, struggling to survive and to breathe. I much rather would have it have been me. Many times I wish that it had been.”
Inside Michael Bublé’s Former Vancouver Home, Where He Spent Christmas with His Family a Year before His Son’s Diagnosis
A year before Noah, who is doing well now, faced the toughest time of his life; he and his family celebrated Christmas in their former Vancouver residence. The beautiful and luxurious 7,100-square-foot mansion boasts breathtaking city and oceanic views and is located on a south-facing lot on the upper echelon of Mathers Avenue.
The building of their new house in Burnaby came at the same time Lopilato was set to welcome their third child.
Bublé’s Vancouver abode, which he had owned for over ten years, has a 3,000-square-foot landscaped area that includes private, manicured gardens with a saltwater pool, fire pit, and hot tub. By the time the “Feeling Good” musician bought the house for $4,550,000 in 2007, it was only a year old.

When the festive holiday season rolled around in 2015, Bublé opened his doors and gave a media outlet a glimpse into his stunningly Christmas-decorated abode. From the decor, music, and food to the many loved ones who came to visit from all over the world, Bublé’s Christmas celebration was in full “Jingle Bell Rock” swing:
“We eat too much, we drink too much — it’s like an old-school Hollywood party.”

Kicking things off with the decorations, Bublé’s home incorporated a classy black, white, and gold color scheme with hints of fresh greenery, like the wreath and eucalyptus leaves featured on the cedar garland, finished with silver ornaments. Other unique decor included snowballs crafted out of white peonies formed in the dome shape of a snowball.

In place of traditional jingle bells, items like Bublé’s harmonica were featured around the home. Regarding food, given Bublé’s extended Italian family and Lopilato’s Argentine lineage, some of the guests’ cuisine included a mix of turkey and mashed potatoes with empanadas and risotto.

Michael Bublé Sold His Home and Built a New One for Him and His Family
Following Noah’s cancer battle, Bublé sold his mansion for $5,180,000 million after setting the asking price at $6,998,000. The decision to sell the Vancouver home came after he and his family moved into a new one that he built.
The building of their new house in Burnaby came at the same time Lopilato was set to welcome their third child. The home’s location has sentimental value as the suburb is the same place where he grew up as a child.
The sprawling abode even has its very own ice hockey rink. Of the reason for building his and his family’s beautiful home in the same suburb where he spent his childhood, Bublé said:
“Nothing about this life is normal. And we strive just to be normal.”

Concerning why he chose to sell his other home in Vancouver instead of holding onto it, Bublé’s listing agent explained that it was ultimately not a good investment property and would cost a massive amount of money to keep.
