Sarah, an ER doctor, encounters Vanessa, a domestic violence victim. Vanessa, battered by her husband Ron, seeks refuge in the hospital. Despite Sarah’s efforts, Ron manipulates another doctor, Dr. Mitchell, leading to Sarah’s termination. Undeterred, she devises a plan to expose Ron’s abuse.
“Vanessa,” he called from the living room.
“Yes?” she replied, walking to him with measured steps.
“Don’t you want to sit down and watch the game with me?” he asked, gesturing to the arm of the armchair he was reclining in.
Vanessa, fearing Ron’s retaliation, cooperates with Sarah. Late at night, when Ron returns to harm Vanessa, he discovers Sarah in her place. Using Ron’s threats recorded on her phone, Sarah ensures his arrest. Vanessa bravely testifies against Ron, leading to both Ron and Dr. Mitchell’s arrests.
“Babe! Babe, please! Tell them I’m innocent,” he said.
“We’ve been through so many things.” “Yes, Ron,” Vanessa said.
“We have been through a lot. Bruises. Broken bones. All of that will heal. But I will never forget what you did to me.”
The policeman took Ron away while he kicked and screamed.
Sarah, triumphant, supports Vanessa, emphasizing that physical wounds heal, but the emotional scars persist. Together, they reclaim Vanessa’s safety and justice.
