A wedding store owner shared a story about an experience she had with a client. What was meant to be an exciting fitting turned into a drama-filled day of dealing with an imposter sister.
A woman with the handle @bridalinfluencerkasia took it to TikTok to tell a story about a strange experience she had with a client at her bridal store. The TikTok user explained that the client had been easy to work with since she already knew what she wanted. But the dress she chose needed a few custom details to fit her figure and the overall design she wanted.
After the wedding store owner agreed on everything with the bride, she sent in the order, and six months later, the dress arrived. She proceeded to call the bride in question, whom she named Darla, to schedule a fitting.
Darla was excited to try on her dress again but asked to confirm the day since she wanted her sisters, who were flying from out of town, her mother, and aunt to join her since they had not seen her in her dress.
The woman was more than willing to accommodate her and her family but asked the bride to confirm her appointment before Christmas because she would love to have the store closed by then.
The two women had spoken on Friday, and then on Monday, as the store owner was getting through her packed day, she had a woman who claimed to be Darla walk-in.
The TikTok user was surprised since they had not confirmed the appointment. She told the alleged bride that she was not expecting her because they had not finalized anything. However, the store owner was willing to help but explained that she had back-to-back fittings and asked to reschedule the appointment later in the day.
When the supposed bride arrived, it was about 2:00 p.m., and the store owner asked her to come in later at 4:00 p.m. She was at the store at 4:15 p.m., but as the woman prepared to help the bride, she was surprised to get a call from Darla, who initially said she would confirm her appointment.
This left the store owner questioning whether the woman who had walked into the store was the real Darla or the one she was with on the phone. As she tried to figure out what was happening, the bride apologized on the phone and said she had been waiting for her sister to arrive.
The story was making sense to the TikTok user because she thought the sister might have gotten things confused and thought they were meeting at the bridal store. But to get to the bottom of it, the store owner told her supposed bride that she needed her ID because she had mixed up the orders.
The woman, who the store owner believed was an imposter, got really angry at the request and said she had flown out of town to make the appointment and threatened her by telling her father was an attorney, then walked out angrily.
